The mission of Chess Girls DC 501c3 nonprofit organizations is to build the confidence of girls using chess as a tool. Chess Girls DC was launched in response to scientific evidence that self -confidence plays a tremendous role in a girl’s approach to academics; this requires higher level thinking skills. Scientific studies show that confidence in one’s abilities has a significant impact on learning and performance on many levels. Confidence in one’s ability, determines how well students motivate themselves and persevere in the face of adversity.
Chess Girls DC in partnership with Ben's Chili Bowl Scholarship Foundation is focused on creating more resources for girls to afford to attend university.
The Ben’s Chili Bowl Foundation was founded to provide service to the community and the neighborhoods in which we live. The Foundation contributes by engaging in community projects through out the year at various locations around the city.
The Foundation also raises funds from individuals and corporations,
enabling organizations such as Chess Girls DC 501c3 Nonprofit organization to provide more resources to assist students with college tuition.
In the event you contribute more or less, all donations will be a tremendous push towards our goal of providing more resources for high school girls to afford to attend college. Please consider identifying potential players to participate as a Foursome or join us for dinner.
Whether you help through monetary donations, gifts in kind, volunteering your time or through word-of-mouth , spreading the news about our program, We could not accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. Thank you.
